Our Services

We have a range of Sunday services to suit different lifestyles and needs.

The 9am service is reflective and intimate, with breakfast served from 8.30am. The 10.30am service is larger and has a more family feel. Our 7pm service is very much a celebration event for the city. And there are others.

For more information visit the services page.

A Bit of Background
Woodlands is a large and vibrant city centre church. Our community is made up of around 850 adults, plus 150 children. We seek to be open, modern, relevant and, above all, authentic in our approach to church and faith.

We're a diverse mix. We've got professionals, people from the streets, and pretty much everything in between. We have students, young people, singles and families of every shape and size. We believe in excellence, but we don't get fazed by a little messiness at the edges. People - with all their problems, questions and quirks - are our priority. Anyone and everyone is welcome.

Our Vision
  • Vision Statement

logoAs a church our vision is simply to reproduce the life of Jesus.

This is then outworked in four specific areas - Commitment, Discipleship, Service and Unity.

    4. Unity

We want to build together in unity with other churches to reach the whole city and region with the gospel, to be salt and light in the city and to bless the nations, especially the poorest
HistoryWoodlands Church was started in 1995, to accommodate the growth of The Community Church, itself an offshoot of Highgrove Church. These three sister churches remain linked to this day, as the Woodlands Group of Churches. What started with just a handful of people in 1983 has mushroomed incredibly. Yet our vision (above) has stayed the same all the way through.
The Community Church at Greenway is a vibrant community of around 180 adults and 150 children. We seek to be open, modern, relevant and, above all, authentic in our approach to church and faith.

The church, which used to be called 'Henleaze & Westbury Community Church' meets every Sunday morning at the Greenway Centre in Southmead. For mid-week activities we still use our building on the border of Henleaze and Westbury. We're also part of 'Churches Together in the Westbury Area' and meet regularly with the leaders of the churches in Southmead.

At heart, we're a community of people dedicated to following Jesus with a faith that engages with modern life. There's a great feeling of family in our church and we're open to anyone and everyone, regardless of where you are on your own spiritual journey.

These three sister churches remain linked to this day, as the Woodlands Group of Churches. What began with just a handful of people in 1983 has mushroomed incredibly. Highgrove Church is a vibrant community of around 100 adults and 40 children. We seek to be open, modern, relevant and, above all, authentic in our approach to church and faith.

The church meets every Sunday morning in our building in Sea Mills, and we run various midweek activities in our local community. We highly value our strong links with the other churches in Sea Mills.

At heart we're a community of people dedicated to following Jesus, with a faith that engages with modern life. There's a great feeling of family in our church and we're open to anyone and everyone, regardless of where you are on your own spiritual journey.
