New to Church?

Dave MitchellWoodlands is an informal church and we have all sorts of people and ages in our congregation. Though it can seem busy on a Sunday, we hope that you will get the message that you matter to us and are welcome, whether ‘just visiting’ or with a desire to get connected.

Sunday church has a sense of celebration, but at Woodlands we see church as community, built from the bottom up via small groups, and clusters (which we call pastorates), which make up our midweek church. These connect into Sunday services and the wider church family in Bristol of which we are a part.

If you want to explore church there are a number of things you can do. Do fill in our 'Visitors Book' on the welcome desk, or online here, so we can write to you and tell you more about the church and invite you to our Newcomers events. These happen every month, and our next one is on the evening of October 12th.  They will give you the history, vision and values of Woodlands Church and point the way to joining a midweek group if you wish.

If you are exploring the Christian faith or are looking again at your Christian foundations, the Alpha course is a great place to begin. This happens on Wednesday evenings at Woodlands and you can turn up unannounced on any Wednesday in October at 7.30 pm.

Thanks for your interest. The Bible teaches us that following Jesus is best done in His family the church, and that everyone matters to Him and everyone’s place in the family is unique.  I hope that we can be useful to you in that process.

Tim DobsonThe Community Church is a friendly, informal church made up of all sorts of people of all ages. We aim to share God's love with those around us and serve our local community, so do explore our website to find out more. And we'd love to welcome you on a Sunday morning, whether you're ‘just visiting’ or want to get connected.

Our morning service is from 10.30 until 11.45am and includes guitar-led worship and a Bible-based talk on 21st century living. Sunday mornings also include a wide range of groups and activities for children aged 0-18 as we have around 150 young people in our congregation! When we gather on Sundays there is a sense of celebration, but we see church as more than just a morning service. It is community, built from the bottom up via small groups, activity groups and prayer triplets, which make up our midweek church experience. These connect into Sunday services and the wider church family in Bristol of which we are a part.
