Services

Highgrove Church

Our Sunday morning service takes place at 10.30am at Highgrove and lasts for about one and a half hours. There is a strong emphasis on worship, teaching and fellowship and we seek to make our times together informal and friendly. It is possible for every member of the congregation to contribute through the sharing of family news and prayer.

Our services typically include:

Worship

Worship is the reason for which we were created. At Highgrove, we long to be people whose hearts, lives and songs are the kind of offerings God is looking for. As well as worshipping God through our service in the community and our relationships with each other, we seek to spend considerable time in our Sunday services expressing our love and commitment to God by singing.

Children’s church

The children stay with the adults for the first part of the service and will then be invited to join their various age groups for a time of fun and learning. The teenagers are taken to meet at our Henleaze congregation with the younger children meeting in the rooms at the back of our building. Children meet in the following groups:

  • Creche (Pre-school)
  • Xplore (Reception, Years 1-5)
  • Passion8 (Years 6-7)
  • Devotion (Years 8-12)
Announcements, family news and offering

You’ll hear about some of the things that are happening here at Highgrove and there’ll be an opportunity to hear family joys and struggles and to support each other in prayer.

On the first Sunday of the month, we take an offering for our missionaries at home and abroad. Our philosophy on these Sundays is to “put our mouths where our money is”. In other words, we recognise that sharing about what these people are doing and praying for them is a far better way of supporting than just digging into our pockets!

Teaching

Someone will give a short talk from a theme in the Bible. We value the Bible as the word of God and believe it is relevant for our lives today.

Ministry and Prayer

There will always be an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of each service.

Refreshments

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served at the end of the service. Please do stay and get to know us a little better.

We join with the other congregations from the Woodlands group of churches on Sunday evenings at Woodlands Christian Centre (map).
